Humanitarian Response
Rapid, dignified support for families affected by displacement, conflict, flooding and other emergencies.
Statistics, partners, documents and stories are unverified placeholders awaiting LAHDI’s content.

Community development is the slower half of the work, and usually the half that determines whether anything lasts. It begins with a community setting its own priorities, and continues through the unglamorous business of committees, maintenance plans, training and follow-up.
Projects vary — a water point, a classroom block, a market shed, a savings group — but the method does not. The community contributes, the community decides, and the community holds the asset afterwards.
The measure of success is not the facility itself but whether it is still functioning, and still locally managed, several years later.
